“Located in the far northeast of Thailand, Sisaket is a small, modern city set close to the Cambodian border. It’s popular as the gateway to the ancient Preah Vihear clifftop temple just inside Cambodia as well as for visits to other Khmer heritage sites.
Travellers from Bangkok can use the air-conditioned eight-hour bus trip from the capital’s Mochit 2 Bus Terminal to the local bus station and take a metered taxi to their hotel. Sisaket’s bus station is close by the rail terminal with its express and fast services from Bangkok’s main Hua Lumphong station. Getting around is by samlor, motorbike taxi or metered taxis, as there are no tuk-tuks in the city.”
